The Broadwalk Centre car park earns official recognition
01 April 2010
The super safe car park at The Broadwalk Shopping Centre
has earned official recognition for its standards designed to
reduce crime and the fear of crime. Each year, there are just
over 1.5 million visits to the car park, servicing shoppers and
commuters in Edgware and the centre was first recognised for its
excellent facilities back in 2005.
Now, following a top-to-bottom inspection by the police and
British Parking Association assessors, The Broadwalk Centre car
park off Station Road has gained a three-year Safer Parking
award. Key safety features including surveillance, lighting,
staffing levels and cleanliness were checked before the award was
made.
The award is a key element of the national Park Mark programme
administered by the British Parking Association and backed by the
Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers.
The Broadwalk Centre car park operates for 24 hours a day and
has 850 spaces for shoppers and an additional 250 spaces for
commuters. There is also dedicated parking for parents
with toddlers and for those who display a blue badge, as well as a
car wash service that operates 7 days a week.
Angela Brooks, General Manager of The Broadwalk Centre,
said: "We are committed to making visits to The Broadwalk a
completely stress-free and enjoyable experience. As Edgware's
key shopping destination, we are delighted that our commitment
towards safer shopping has been reflected in this prestigious
award."
